Tai Kwun | "Tai Kwun Little Pony": Shetland Ponies Make a Surprise Appearance at Tai Kwun
Description
This March, Tai Kwun cordially invites everyone to join the weekend event, "Tai Kwun Little Pony", for a heartwarming and surprising urban animal encounter. With the support of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Shetland ponies will trot into the bustling Central district, breaking the barriers of city life. Under the historic architecture of the Parade Ground at Tai Kwun, come and experience a joyful and exploratory moment of warmth. Whether you're a family, a horse enthusiast, or an urban explorer, you can explore and feel the possibilities of community interaction with nature at Tai Kwun.
A Pony Encounter in the City
Before its transformation into an arts and cultural landmark, Tai Kwun was the former Central Police Station Compound. Historical photographs from the late 19th century show that horses once stood on the very ground of the Parade Ground. Inspired by these precious historical images, "Tai Kwun Little Pony" brings Shetland ponies, known for their gentle temperament and suitability for family interactions, allowing the public to connect with these magnificent creatures on the Parade Ground. As the horses stand again before the historic buildings of the Barracks Block, they not only evoke a scene from the past but also offer a rare opportunity for visitors to see, touch, and feel the charm and friendliness of Shetland ponies up close in the heart of the city.
Gentle Ponies Warm Hearts and Fill the Air with Warmth and Laughter
In the bustling city, Tai Kwun has created an amiable space in front of its iconic historical architecture, inviting everyone to come and meet the ponies up close, evoking genuine smiles and capturing unforgettable memories. The adorable and petite Shetland ponies, with their gentle nature, are sure to captivate both adults and children alike! Whether it's a child's first close encounter with a pony or a family capturing a heartwarming photo, every interaction delicately showcases the warm connection between humans and animals.
A Rare Urban Wilderness Experience
For many, getting close to horses often means venturing into the wilderness or traveling to far-off places. "Tai Kwun Little Pony" brings this meaningful and memorable experience conveniently to the heart of Central. Without having to travel far, visitors can interact and connect with the adorable ponies at Tai Kwun, instantly feeling closer to nature. A variety of fun photo props are also available on-site, allowing visitors to dress up and capture memorable photos with the ponies, adding even more joy to this unexpected urban surprise.
